In developing each drawing or painting, my technique remains fairly constant. This technique can be demonstrated in the following development sequences, which represent how I utilise it in both pencil drawings and watercolour paintings:
1) Commence with a series of outlines and internal structural lines.
2) Add main blocks of colour in washes.
3) Add features and shading in basic colours.
4) Add finer detailing in bolder, final colour palette.
5) Finalise colouring, detailed shading and texturing to complete watercolour.
1) Commence with a series of outlines and internal structural lines.
3) Add features and shading with bolder tones and softer pencils.
5) Finalise detailed shading and texturing in range of pencils, including a selection of coloured pencils if appropriate, to complete drawing.
